Advanced vision technology. Expert surgical care. A new horizon for personalized vision correction.
At Envue Eye & Laser Center, we believe the future of vision correction should never feel out of reach. Envue is proud to announce another milestone in that mission: Dr. Bruce A. Rivers and Envue Eye & Laser Center were the first in the Mid-Atlantic and South Atlantic regions, and third in the United States, to implant the innovative Galaxy and Galaxy Toric intraocular lenses.
Leading the Way in Advanced Vision Technology
The introduction of new intraocular lens technologies is an important part of the evolution of patients seeking better vision and greater independence from glasses.
The Galaxy and Galaxy Toric lenses represent an exciting development using AI to design and refine these advanced lenses. Depending on the specific lens design and a patient’s individual eye health, advanced intraocular lenses offer additional options for addressing vision needs following lens replacement surgery.
At Envue, we believe patients deserve access to the latest developments in eye care, along with the expert guidance needed to understand which technologies may be appropriate for them.
Dr. Bruce A. Rivers: Experience Meets Innovation
Leading this milestone is Dr. Bruce A. Rivers, Medical Director of Envue Eye & Laser Center and a highly experienced ophthalmic surgeon with a distinguished background in military and civilian eye care.
A retired U.S. Army Colonel, Dr. Rivers spent 30 years in military service, including leadership in the Army’s Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program and Research Center. His experience with advanced vision correction technologies has helped shape his commitment to innovation, surgical precision, and improving patients’ quality of life through better vision.
At Envue, that experience translates into a patient-centered approach that combines advanced technology with careful evaluation and individualized treatment planning.
Being among the first surgeons in the country to implant the Galaxy and Galaxy Toric lenses since FDA approval, reinforces a principle that has guided Dr. Rivers throughout his career: the future of eye care is not simply about having access to new technology. It is about knowing how and when to use it to benefit patients.
What Does This Mean for Patients?
For patients exploring their options for cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange, advances in intraocular lens technology can open the door to new conversations about their vision goals.
At Envue, we take the time to evaluate each patient’s eyes, lifestyle, visual priorities, and expectations before recommending a treatment approach. We offer a range of vision correction procedures, including LASIK, SMILE Pro, PRK, EVO ICL, refractive lens exchange (RLE), and advanced laser-assisted cataract surgery.
No single procedure or lens is right for everyone. Factors such as eye health, prescription, astigmatism, and individual visual needs help determine which options may be appropriate.
Our goal is to ensure that patients have access to meaningful choices and the information they need to make confident, informed decisions about their care.
